AUDITIONS OPEN FOR AREA YOUTH SYMPHONY

DECEMBER 7, 2012 -- Student musicians ages 8-18 may audition on January 5, 2013, for acceptance into the Longmont Youth Symphony. Students need not be a resident of Longmont. Current members include residents of over ten towns surrounding Longmont, including Erie, Loveland, Boulder, and Denver.

The Longmont Youth Symphony is a community-based honors orchestra featuring young musicians in the St. Vrain Valley and surrounding areas. Three ensembles are holding auditions: the Longmont Youth Strings Ensemble (LYSE), consisting of elementary and middle school students, and the Longmont Youth Wind Ensemble (LYWE) and Longmont Youth Symphony Orchestra (LYSO), both consisting of middle and high school students.
