Alyssa McCollum received her Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Colorado State University. During her time at CSU she studied in the percussion studio under Dr. Eric Hollenbeck. During her high school and college years Mrs. McCollum performed with both the world championship finalist Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps for six years and the Blue Knights World Percussion Ensemble for three years as a front ensemble percussionist. Before coming to Rock Canyon High School, Mrs. McCollum taught band and orchestra at Thomas Jefferson Junior High in Kearns, Utah.

Mrs. McCollum also currently works with the Rock Canyon Elementary Instrumental Music program teaching elementary orchestra, the Castle View Elementary Instrumental Music program teaching elementary band, and teaches the front ensemble for the Douglas County High School Winter Percussion Ensemble and Marching Band.
